I’m still bummed that I’m out of action. Can’t be back on the walls so I spent some time snoozing and reading on a Sunday afternoon.
Make Your Bed by William H. Mc Raven
Why did I pick this book? Because… it was quite thin. No kidding.
In a nutshell, you need to create system and order in your life so that you have that tiny bit of control to start again... even when sheet hits the fan and everything is haywire. For Admiral William H. McRaven and Navy Seals, that order comes by making your bed every morning. Makes sense because your day starts and ends on your bed.
I felt some comfort, reading this as I lie on my bed. Next chapter that caught my interest was about Saddam Hussien.
That courage is within all of us. Dig deep, and you will find it in abundance. This book is solid. No small talk but just the good stuff.
Just gonna share one last chapter over here… The author talks about how our decisions make a difference.
Reading this book reminds me that consistency is the key. I could get use to reading all weekend. BUT I still can’t wait to get back to climbing. Next on the read list, Atomic Habits. If you make a 1% improvement a day, that’ll be a 37 times better after a year. Why not 365%? That’s not how the math works bruh. It’s 1^365.
Not the best weekend but it wasn’t bad either. Bless up, people.
